What If I have never danced before?
No dance experience is necessary. Anyone can join the class even if they have never danced before.
How difficult is it to learn to dance?
It is actually quite easy to learn to dance. You can be dancing a few basic steps and having fun in just a few lessons.
When can I practice?
We have a 2 1/2 hour club dance after the Friday class that provides the perfect opportunity to practice.
Do I need a dance partner?
We teach both singles and couples. Our group dance lessons and practice sessions will provide plenty of opportunity to meet other students with the same interests and goals.
Are there any age limitations?
Adults of all ages are welcome.
What types of dance does the instructor teach?

Who teaches the lessons? Do you provide private lessons?
See Dance Lessons for a bio of our instructor. We do not offer private lessons but you can talk to the instructor to arrange one.
How should I dress for my ballroom dance lesson?
Students should wear something comfortable that won't inhibit movement. Of course, comfortable shoes are a must! We suggest wearing a pair of leather-soled shoes for maximum ease and comfort.
How much does it cost?
The Friday class is one hour long and is covered by donation to the instructor. See Dance Lessons for more detail. We have beginning and intermediate lessons. The Friday's club dance admission is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers. On nights we have a live band, it is $8 for members ad $10 for nonmembers. Annual club membership is $3
Can I attend only a few lessons? If I missed the first few lessons can I still join?
Yes, you can join the lessons at any time or just attend the lessons of your choice.
What is the secret to learning how to dance?
The secret is that people typically spend all their dance time and energy “thinking” about their dancing and forget to “feel” their dancing. Ballroom dancing is all “muscle” memory, where your muscles remember a movement through repetition. The greatest enjoyment comes after you have gained the muscle memory of the steps and can then concentrate on feeling the dance.
